Turkey for Thanksgiving, Turkey for Christmas
Turkey, Spain seek to bring up Alliance of Civilizations
At a summit coming up in December, the report and its recommendations that I have posted here and thoroughly commented is going to be pushed by sponsor countries Spain and Turkey. There is simply way too much to report and comment on, but in a nutshell, the desire for a peace treaty is at fever pitch due to the "clash of civilizations". The official statement seemes to contradict itself, "The daily stated that NATO leaders don't feel special interest in the initiative, but will express their support for it in NATO documents." The bottom line is that the NATO leaders do indeed support the Alliance of Civilizations. So outside of Turkey being the co-sponsor of the report with Spain, why is Turkey becoming so prominent a player?
Erdogan calls on pope to back 'alliance of civilizations'
The Pope recently met with Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan where they discussed how to promote a "brotherhood" between the two civilizations. Erdogan couldn't meet the Pope in Ankara but agreed to meet him at the airport. the money quote: "Erdogan, who will not be in Ankara during the pope's visit next week, said his 'only message' for Benedict was 'to support the Turko-Spanish initiative of an 'Alliance of Civilizations' as an alternative to the clash of civilizations.' "
Pope Preaches Brotherhood on Turkey Trip
If you really follow the news surrounding this you'll see just how pivotal Turkey is in shaping the entire European Union/Middle East connection. "In his first official act, Benedict visited the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern Turkey, and wrote a message in a guest book calling Turkey 'a meeting point of different religions and cultures and a bridge between Asia and Europe.' "
Failed EU Entrance Could Mean Stronger Ties to Russia
Now, Turkey has failed to meet criteria for full membership to the European Union. What they may do instead is form an alliance with Russia based on energy policy. Russia is a major source of energy with major pipelines running from it into Europe. One thing I really haven't focused on much yet is the financial and economic ties the EU has that are dependant on Russia's energy provisions. "According to a British think-tank, the Center for European Reform (CER), if EU membership negotiations were postponed, Turkey would look for a new alliance, perhaps in Russia."A Turkey/Russia alliance would result in the bridge necessary to facilitate the Gog/Magog connection for the war against Israel as prophecied in Ezekiel 38.
Turkey backs Iran in peaceful nuclear right
Five cities of the 2.8-million-population West Azarbaijan province have common borders with Turkey. West Azarbaijan is regarded as Iran's gateway to Europe. You can clearly see here how Turkey not only will tie in Iran geographically but politically as well. If you haven't read Ezekiel 38 yet, I suggest you do so. Look at the countries God calls out against Israel. Then follow the news on what is happening here just with what I have posted. Have you ever worked a large jigsaw puzzle? After a while, enough pieces start to come together where you can make out the picture even though it is not yet complete. I think the picture is getting clearer.
